Features of the Rogers World Elite Mastercard Review

The Rogers World Elite Mastercard is a cash back credit card that offers cardholders additional travel benefits. The no-annual-fee card gives cash back on all purchases, a higher cash back percentage for purchases made in U.S. dollars, extensive travel insurance, and exclusive cardholder benefits.

Cash Back Rewards for the Rogers World Elite Mastercard

The Rogers World Elite Mastercard offers an attractive cash-back rewards program. There are two cash-back rates for this credit card. The first is 1.5% unlimited cash back on all eligible purchases. The second is 3% cash back on all purchases made in U.S. dollars.

That being said, cardholders should be aware of the 2.5% foreign transaction fee. This fee is common, so it doesn’t come as a surprise, but the 3% cash back rate should be taken as 0.5% cash back for purchases made in U.S. currency. Although 0.5% doesn’t sound as attractive as 3%, this can still be more than many cash back credit cards offer because of the typical foreign transaction fee.

Welcome Bonus

Cardholders earn a $25 cash-back reward for their first purchase if it is made within the first 3-months of opening their account.

How to Redeem Rewards

Rogers World Elite Mastercard allows you to redeem your rewards once the minimum value of $10 is reached. You can use your rewards to put towards purchases made in the last 90 days.

You can redeem the cash back rewards using the Rogers Bank mobile app or online, where you can access your points total, view rewards, and redeem them. The sign-up process is simple and the app allows you to set up automated payments once your cashback reaches a set amount.

Insurance and Travel Benefits for the Rogers World Elite Mastercard

The Rogers World Elite Mastercard offers extensive travel and purchase insurance to cardholders. For those traveling both out-of-province and out-of-the-country, emergency medical insurance is provided for the first 10 days of your trip (age restrictions apply). Travelers are also covered for rental car collisions or damage, trip interruption, and trip cancellation.

In addition to insurance, cardholders also receive a Mastercard Travel Pass by Dragon Pass. The pass includes access to 1,300 airport lounges worldwide, airport security fast track, discounts on airport restaurants, and complimentary Boingo Global Wi-Fi.
