TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Features

Save on baggage fees

All Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholders (and their travel companions) get one standard checked bag for free, provided their flight journey originates on an Air Canada flight.

An enhanced travel experience

Cardholders have access to a 24/7 concierge, the Visa Infinite collection of Luxury Hotels, Visa-exclusive gourmet dining events, and specialized wine tours in Ontario, BC, and California.

Cardholders also get access to curated entertainment events including the Toronto International Film Festival. For those more athletically inclined, the card comes with special status and savings at over 95 golf courses.

Peace-of-mind

The card has other benefits that ensure its travelers are taken care of. This includes medical insurance, trip interruption, delay, and cancellation insurance, lost/delayed baggage insurance, travel accident insurance, burglary insurance, auto rental insurance, and emergency travel assistance services.

How Does the Aeroplan Rewards Program Work?

The TD Aeroplan program is one of the most robust travel rewards programs in Canada. The premise is simple: cardholders earn points for every dollar they spend. The number of points per dollar depends on the following categories:

  • 1.5 points for every $1 spent on gas, groceries, and Air Canada flights and vacation packages
  • 1 point for every other purchase
  • Earn points twice with any purchases made on the Aeroplan ePlan or with partner retailers when you present both your Aeroplan Visa and Aeroplan card

Cardholders have the choice of redeeming their points for flights with Air Canada (or any other Star Alliance partner). Accommodation rentals, car rentals, travel experiences, gift cards, and select retail merchandise are also eligible for point redemption.

Redeeming points is easy to do through the online Aeroplan booking portal or the Aeroplan ePlan online store.

Other Perks

Earn Aeroplan Elite status

Primary Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholders become eligible for 1,000 miles and 1 Status Qualifying Segment (SQS) for every $10,000 that they spend. After 25,000 miles or 25 SQS, the cardholder is eligible for Aeroplan Elite Status. Benefits of Aeroplan Elite Status offers include Maple Leaf Lounge Access, private customer support lines, and flight updates.

Nexus card reimbursement

Nexus is a North American Trusted Traveler Program that frees up wait times at customs and airport security lines (through TSA precheck). While there is usually a nominal fee to apply for the Nexus program, Aeroplan Visa Infinite waives this fee for its members.

Mobile device insurance

Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholders can count on up to $1,000 of device coverage for their mobile phones in the event that it’s broken, stolen, or lost.

Rental car deals

Cardholders get up to 10% off of car rentals at Avis and Budget in Canada and the United States and up to 5% off of Avis and Budget rentals worldwide.

Eligibility

To qualify for an Aeroplan Visa Infinite card, applicants must make a minimum of $60,000 individually or $100,00 as a household. They must also be the age of majority and a Canadian resident.

Fees and Interest

The Aeroplan Visa Infinite carries a standard APR of 19.99% on regular purchases and 22.99% on cash advances. Primary cardholders are subject to a yearly fee of $139 ($75 for additional cardholders). In some cases, the annual fee for the first year will be waived.
