Lisa Coxon

Managing Editor

Lisa is the former managing editor at WealthRocket. She has been a writer and editor for nine years and has specialized in personal finance — including mortgages, insurance, and credit cards — since 2018.

Prior to joining WealthRocket, she was the senior editor at rate comparison website RATESDOTCA, where she led a team of writers whose work regularly garnered media coverage from publications like The Globe and Mail, CBC, blogTO, and CTV News, among others. Before that, she worked her way up from personal finance writer to editor at LowestRates.ca. In 2020, she was featured as a guest on personal finance expert Bruce Sellery’s Moolala podcast on SiriusXM radio to discuss an article she wrote about the financial impacts of healing from trauma. And in 2023, she was invited onto the Bill Kelly Show to discuss the results of a WealthRocket survey on the prospect of a central bank digital currency in Canada.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, where she was awarded the Mark Bastien Memorial Award — given to the graduating student deemed to have written the best published magazine story. She won this award for her Ryerson Review of Journalism feature that told the story of the two investigative journalists who broke the robocalls scandal during the 2011 election.

Since graduating in 2014, Lisa has reported on a variety of topics, including personal finance, insurance, real estate, law, and health and wellness. Her work has been published in places like Reader’s Digest, Best Health, Hazlitt, Toronto Life, Canadian Living, TVO, and LowestRates.ca. You can reach her at lisa@wealthrocket.com.
